Where Nicole stands

Nicole King’s priorities
for District 3.

Nicole King’s priorities for Texas House District 3 focus on the people of Montgomery County, with a practical agenda for stronger public schools, everyday affordability, emergency preparedness, and small business support.

Priority 01

Public
education

Education equals opportunity—and public schools are the heart of this district.

Nicole will work to support teachers and school staff with stronger salaries beyond the Teacher Incentive Allotment, fund schools based on enrollment rather than attendance, and protect safe learning environments for every student.

Priority 02

Everyday
affordability

Texas is facing an affordability crisis, and many households are cutting back on everyday essentials.

Nicole supports state and county governments working in harmony rather than opposition and is committed to bringing everyone to the table to find a sustainable way forward. Her legislative priorities include sensible property tax relief through appraisal reform, innovative solutions for insurance, and support for living wages—including raising the minimum wage to a true living wage so no Texan working full time lives in poverty. She also supports requiring companies that move into Texas to hire Texans first, protecting people who have invested their lives in local communities and ensuring hard work is rewarded so families can afford to stay.

Priority 03

Emergency Preparedness

Every community deserves the support and information it needs to prepare for emergencies and recover with dignity.

Texas has normalized the high cost of essential emergency equipment, creating a significant burden for homeowners. I support rebates for homeowners who have spent thousands on generators or water purification systems. We must ensure that elderly and vulnerable Texans who rely on life-saving equipment have access to electricity during storms. I support equitable preparedness that strengthens community resilience and makes reliable information accessible before, during, and after a crisis. My legislative priority is effective recovery through enhanced preparedness.

Priority 04

Small Business
Support

Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, creating jobs and driving innovation.

I support a resilient local economy where established businesses can grow, small businesses can stay rooted, and business owners have a meaningful seat at the legislative table. I will advocate for a state approach that recognizes the role small businesses play in strong communities.
